They had a budget and spent it in the summer. They put out rumours before this window that no much was happening, that changed a bit with the Arnautovic thing, but quieted again after his deal.
You may want richer owners but they acted better these two windows than they have before. In terms of feeding rumours and mouthing off.
Hopefully we can turn things around and earn a bit more this season (I have not given up on it) so as to build something or they are biding their time to sell to someone richer.

Yeah. I was expecting a couple to leave. Lots of clubs in Europe, and forwards always in demand; surprised not to see one or two go. But, you know, meh.

We had a largely poor summer window so why add more driftwood to our squad. Plus Winston Reid, Jack Wilshire, Lanzini, Sanchez will be like new signings when they come back.

Most sensible thing for us was probably status quo until the end of the season.
Especially with so many out injured and question marks over several squad members. Can't just buy players to replace them- that's when you end up with a massively bloated squad and players you can't shift when the others return.
Plus I think we;re probably safe- another 2-3 wins will see to that. The bottom three almost certainly won't catch us. We're out of the cup, so it'll probably be coasting to the end of this season (however disappointing that is for us supporters) and planning for the summer/next season.
